Where The Popsicles Are-152

The Chocolates of My Mind

She Danced

We all have dates in our lives that are etched in stone. Dates of events in our lives we can’t forget. For me, today is such a date, for it was on Wednesday, April, 9, 2008 that Joanie slipped away from me. I’ve thought a lot about that night on this day, and then remembered something I had written back in February.

During the process of writing this story, one late night I penned these words. I was thinking of Joanie that night, and, I’m not sure how these words came out of my brain, but today I read them again, and I find a meaning, I didn’t know was there when I wrote them.

She Danced.

She danced with death

All of those clouded years.

Never asking, never knowing

She danced, and when the music changed,

She never asked the orchestra for a different tune.
