Where The Popsicles Are-163

April 14, 2014

A light and fluffy, frosting of snow
Covered your spot today.

The Starbucks coffee cup warmed my hands
On this cold April morning.

My breath left me in bursts of steamy fog
As I told you about my life of late.

I’ve stopped by before. Solitary visits,
Known only to you and me.

Today was different.
It marked the time since that day.

Marked it in the only way I know
How, to help me to not forget.

Six years ago today
Seems like yesterday.

About Bob Kallberg

Retired reporter. Concentrating now on recounting Joanie's 12 year battle with cancer, a battle she waged with extreme courage, determination and an indomitable spirit, that, for me, serves as an example.
