Musings

Saturday Nights

Saturday nights are different
Old and single, you know it.
Other nights of the week
You are content with the illusion
That nothing has changed,
But Saturday nights are different.

Your phone stopped ringing years ago.
You even stopped waiting for it.
Saturday nights are for couples.
You are only half a couple anymore,
And there is little room on a Saturday night,
For half a couple.

About Bob Kallberg

Retired reporter. Concentrating now on recounting Joanie's 12 year battle with cancer, a battle she waged with extreme courage, determination and an indomitable spirit, that, for me, serves as an example.
